I was one of Mr. Knapp's students during the early 1970's at Vincent Junior High. I still remember his band class like it was yesterday. Through the years I thought of him often, as he made a positive impression on me at an early age.. He was one of those teachers you never forgot, and whose values stay with you for life. Mr Knapp you will be missed, but your legacy will live on in all who were fortunate enough to have known you.

I was very sorry to hear of Don Knapp's passing. I didn't know him nearly as well as everyone else has, but I did know him to be a fine man! I remember first meeting him in 1970, after our
family moved to Beaumont. To his entire family... I and my family confer our most sincere condolences.

I have been traveling for the last few days on business and apologize for not being able to make it to the service. Your dad was a great influence for me during my time in Jr.High and High School. I also remember all the fun we had on the travels with the Fun Travelers group. What a great way to grow up! He will be missed, but I am sure he has already put together a band in his new home. I hope to get to hear him play again some day.
