Leland, Donna, Clary and Family,
Your father was a remarkable man, musician, band director and friend to my parents. Although I never had him as my director, he was always a huge part of my life growing up. I'd practice my twirling outside and hear him playing his trumpet loud and clear. Precious man. Precious memories.
Much love to you all, Amy White Hawkins

Mr. Knapp had to be the best band director ever..... Taking a handful of us kids from Junker.....leading us on to Dick Dowling and inspiring us to play the best we possibly could. 7th Grade Band for me at Dick Dowling was the best and nothing could top it. 7th, 8th, and 9th Grades all making very beautiful music and learning so much from our most wonderful Director.....We marched, we had concerts, we learned and played and had fun............I always looked forward to Band....it seemed to me that Mr. Knapp gave each and everyone of us his undivided attention. He made Band special for me and so many others........You will be missed Sir but certainly never forgotten.............6th,7th, and 8th grade band student. Sunday, November 11, 2012 |

What a wonderful man who gave the gift of music to so many students. Mr. Knapp made music so enjoyable I passed it on to the next generation my children and hopefully the next generation too. It is special people like Mr. Knapp who show case so many talents of so many. It was always a joy to watch and listen to him play his own music. RIP Mr. Knapp you will never be forgotten.
