My deepest sympathies to Mr. Charles' family in your loss. He was a wonderful person and your memories of him will be ever so precious. I will be lifting you up in prayer and may God comfort you and embrace all of you with his grace during this difficult time.
Mr. Charles was a wonderful teacher, one of my favorites, and I thought of him so very often over the years. I now know that he had the patience of Job to have taught and worked with junior high students. Rest in peace, Mr. Charles, until we meet again. Wednesday, July 13, 2011 |

Harry, I'm sure going to miss you Bro.! You and I have always been together, even in the Navy 1945 -- a pleasure that will be with me always. I like the times that you and I would confuse our family relatives as to who was the oldest. Even today I'm sure they are still confused -- I'll keep it that way. Love You with all my heart. Mr. Charles...Mr. Charles...The absolute BEST teacher, friend, mentor I was honored to have at Port Neches Junior High and all the years after. I am privileged to have been one of his band students. He could crack a joke, run his hands through his hair, wear plaid pants w.a striped shirt and dance around the room...all the time teaching, mentoring, being a disciplinarian, and making you feel good about yourself. My prayers for peace and comfort go out to the family. He will definitely be missed by lots of people...but, what wonderful memories we all have of such a special man! God Bless You and give you peace. Wednesday, July 13, 2011 |

Mr. Charles and I met many years ago ('94? '95?) while teaching private clarinet lessons at TJHS in Port Arthur. He was a kind man with a gentle spirit who was passionate about music and music education. On our lesson nights, we shared many laughs, told some great stories, played the heck outta some duets, and exchanged a ton of ideas. Thoughts, prayers, and exceptionally good energy go out to his close friends and family. Mr. Charles, you shall be missed! Wednesday, July 13, 2011 |

I met Harry in the fall of 1997 when I was private teaching for PNG. Over the past 13-14 years, Harry has served as a mentor & cheerleader for bands in the area, but I will miss his friendship most of all.
Harry touched everyone he met in a special way and he will be missed greatly. God bless your family, and I offer my sincerest condolences. Please contact me if I can help your family with anything. Wednesday, July 13, 2011 |
