I am truly sorry for your loss. Life is such a precious gift and all too soon it can slip away. But, if I may, I'd like to share a though with you that brings me peace of mind. "The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear the voice of Christ and come out." John 5:28,29
So even though those we love are asleep in death a beautiful future awaits all those found in Gods memory.

I am unable to attend, because I live in Louisiana at this time. But I am so grateful that I am able to let his family know that I was thinking of him.
He was my favorite teacher. I had heard that someone had found out where he was, and I was going to write a note to him. But alas, I am sad that I am unable to do so. I must tell you he was as I know you have heard before an excellent teacher. Being a retired teacher, I truly know the difference between good teachers and bad. I was in band with him at Port Neches Junior High during 1960-61. I look back on that time with enjoyment. He made you want to play and instrument and he was able to enjoy his students while maintaining good discipline. We were all blessed to have had him as a teacher.

What an unforgettable man! Mr. Charles was everything an educator should be--wise, funny, kind, firm without being harsh--a truly wonderful mentor. My prayers go out to his family.
