Dear Willis Family, I was so saddened to hear about Mr. Willis' passing. He was a great man who helped shape so many young lives, mine being one of them! I will never forget the twinkle in his eyes when he was trying not to laugh at some of the ridiculous things that we did during our high school years! He was the perfect high school principal! He will be missed by many but never forgotten!

I am very sorry about your loss. Mr.Willis was my high school principal at East Chambers, durying the mid 60"s. Even though I gave him a lot of trouble, I always respected Mr.Willis. I had the opportunity a few months to call Mr.Willis and tell him I was sorry for my actions. Mr.Willis did remember me and forgave me.Mr.Willis will be greatly missed and always remembered. God bless your family. Monday, September 20, 2010 |

We all who morn your loss are the fruit of a life well lived. The truths you imparted to each of us lives on in our lives and we have passed them on to our children so your life has touched people you have never even met. Mr Willis is truly a good man who has left an inheritance to his children's children. Monday, September 20, 2010 |

Hey Matt,
I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. As you well know he had a major effect on my life - he knew we wold all basically turn out just fine so long as he could keep us between the ditches during high school. He was a big influence in my life turning out fine! I know he took great pride in positively affecting our lives!
God bless you and your family

I was only at ECC for my senior year, but having moved around the country a great deal and having been an educator myself for 32 years, I can say with some authority that Mr. Willis was an unusually effective principal. His fairness, caring, and quiet sense of humor are a few of the traits his students remember fondly. I hope you can draw comfort from knowing that his positive impact on students is a lasting legacy.
