From our days in Hawk Hall, with very young children, till his last visit with us last year, we have always treasured the friendship with Jim. In 2006 I found myself in the Coronary ICU at Methodist Hospital, when Jim showed up and shared our fond memories as well as the strength of his faith. We have missed Mada over the last few years, an now miss Jim. Our love and condolences to his wife, Lee and Bethlyn, and the rest of his family. Jim will be missed by many friends, and by us.

James, Bethlyn and Juanita, every June at Ashford UMC, we held our breath until conference was over. We were blessed to keep Jim with us for many years until God saw fit to move him to another parrish. We kept up through the years and are so glad we got to meet you Juanita. And now God has seen fit to take him home. We shall mourn our loss as we rejoice in his fortune.

BEREAVEMENT
By Carol Koenig

I tucked a piece of myself away in your heart
While you weren't looking,
And now you have taken it away with you.

The grief that I feel
Is not for the part of me that is gone,
But for the rest of me that remains behind.

As I have written to Juanita, Jim and I have been long time friends although we did not serve in the same Districts at the same time. We both are former pastors of Williams Memorial in Texarkana.

Jim had a distinguished career and set a good example for continuing service in retirement. We will miss him at the annual Retirees Retreat.

Blessings on all who knew and loved him.

Gus

Tom & Marianne, Bethlyn, James, Juanita & Family,
Jim married Don and I in August of 1963 in Waco, TX. We will celebrate 50 years together this year. We appreciated his keeping in touch with all of us through his Christmas newsletters. Our prayers go out to you in your loss. But we know it is his gain to be in heaven today with his Lord.
Our love and prayers for your comfort, Jan and Don

We were sorry to hear of the passing of Jim Killen. He was our pastor at Seabrook UMC and I had the pleasure to serve on several church committees with him. He was a wonderful pastor, and was such a kind, caring man. But along with his pastoral skills, he was a great administrator.

I will always consider him a role model and a credit to the United Methodist Church family. I am thankful for his life's service to the church.
