To the family: May God grant you peace during your time of mourning. I'm so happy I had the privilege of meeting you both as well as the opportunity to talk, pray, and kiss my precious friend, Diane just a week before her home going. She was truly one of my closest friends, and I loved her deeply. Through her witness and service, she has loved so many people. She truly walked the walk and talked the talk as Jesus did. I will always hold her close in my heart until we are together again in the presence of the Lord and Savior. Yours In Christ. Sherry Poteet

Dayn, Sherry, Heather, and Lauren- My heart goes out to you. You four were her world. She loved you all so very much. She talked about you all the time and cherished every moment she could get with you. I know she leaves you with many lessons of love. She was so proud of all of you. We will all miss her, but I know you four will miss her most. Love and prayers for all of you to get through this difficult time. Love- Clary Ann

With the passing of Diane Baker we have lost a great educational icon. Diane was truly “one of a kind.” We began our careers together and I had the privilege to be her colleague and friend. I always admired her tenacity, sense of humor, caring, commitment to excellence, high standards and always, always, always putting “Kids first! She was a true blessing to anyone who knew her. Diane’s belief that all students deserved a great education and no one subset of students should benefit over others was to me a hallmark of her vision of how education and social justice are so interconnected. May the comfort of the grace of God be with your family through this difficult time. God gained another Angel!

Words do no justice in describing how many lives you shaped and changed, probably everyone you shared even a moment with, including myself. I would never have been as successful as I was in my career or driven to do my best had you not demanded it of me. You will be missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. See you on the other side. I'll bring my drumsticks...

I am certain that our fellow faculty and administrators join me in sending love messages to all of Diane's students and friends. It was an honor to be beside her in those HJ halls and know how proud we were and are of her accomplishments and those of our students.
We'd love you....and still do.

Ms Baker you will be greatly missed. Your personality and teaching style cannot and will never be duplicated. You helped shape many of our lives then and now with your wisdom and dicipline. Many of us to this day I believe are stronger/self sustaining/better people for having your influence at such an early impressionable age. Thank you and go easy on those angels in heaven.
