I remember the first time I met Diane in the Pizza Inn on Nederland Avenue in 1972. She was such a dynamic personality and had a big smile to share with everyone. Over the next 44 years I had the opportunity to work with her in a variety of circumstances and venues. As a musician she was impeccable. As a teacher she was an inspiration both to her students and her peers. As a friend, she was always there. I will use the example of her life... of giving, inspiring, working hard for her students, leadership by example, musicianship, friendship, joyful living, positivity, caring, compassion, and her love of God... as a model to live by. Thank you Doobie. Know that you are and always will be in my thoughts.

Diane was taken far too soon in our time, but in God's time it was perfect. Her influence on the band world and all of its members will be forever etched in our minds and hearts. Her heart was bigger than anyone I have ever known, yet her humility was even greater. Let us all rejoice at knowing her and having the chance to be in her presence, while we greive our loss and her gain. I am sure she is directing the Choir of Angels and trying to find at least one pair of left handed drum sticks! You fought the good fight His good and faithful servant! Our love to all, Ricky and Brenda

May the comfort of the grace of God be with your family through this difficult time. Diane was Godmother to my daughter, Karly Diane and she fulfilled those duties with her whole heart. We will miss her dearly. God Bless.

Our dear sweet Patty Cake. There are no words to describe how heartbroken we all are to lose you. I thank God for you every day and I'm forever grateful to be one of your kids. The Big Blue Machine family will not be the same without you but we are all such better people because of our time with you and all the many lessons you taught us. You taught us so much more than music, drills and formations. You taught us respect, the value of hard work and dedication, to love one another and to always trust God. I love you more than you know and I look forward to being with you again one day. Emily

Diane had such a big heart. It is so appropriate that she will have her service on Valentine's Day. She made such a big impact on everyone that she came in contact with and will greatly be missed!
