Myrtle Verret, 91, of Palm Bay, Florida, and formerly of Beaumont, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Palm Bay Community Hospital in Palm Bay, Florida.
She was born to Lodo Rodrigue Dupuy and Philip Dupuy on September 6, 1920, in Avery Island, Louisiana. She then moved to Beaumont, Texas, where she became a longtime member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Myrtle married W.A. “Bill” Verret, and they jointly owned and operated Verrets’ Studio. Together, they took the yearbook pictures for most of the major high schools and Hotel Dieu in Beaumont from the 1950’s into the 1970’s. She most recently attended Calvary Chapel in Palm Bay, Florida, where she spent the last six and a half years of her life.
Myrtle is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, W.A. “Bill” Verret.
Survivors include two sons, Erik Verret and his wife, Faye of Palm Bay, Florida and Lennet Verret and his wife, Carol of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Kelly Verret of Palm Bay, Florida, Lyn Verret and Brad Verret, both of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Jessica McFarland of Seattle, Washington, Stephenie Della Rocco of Columbus, Ohio, and Stephen Wanta of Washington, DC; and ten great-grandchildren.
A gathering of her family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont, Texas. Her graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m., Saturday afternoon at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3900 Twin City Highway, Groves, Texas, under the direction of Broussard’s.
