Opal Lorraine Stonnell
July 23, 1932 - February 5, 2012

Opal Lorraine Stonnell, 79, of Beaumont, died Sunday, February 5, 2012. She was born July 23, 1932, in Jackson County, Ohio, to Violet Mann Crabtree and Charles Crabtree. Opal and her husband lived overseas for ten years while employed with ARAMCO, before returning to Beaumont.

 

She and her husband Stoney did not have a bucket list because they had already achieved all of their goals together. Opal was a very devoted and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.

 

Survivors include her daughters, Kathy Reiff and her husband, Ed of Katy and Lorrie Wiggins of Beaumont; grandchildren, Melissa Wiggins of Beaumont, Emily Reiff of Boston, Massachusetts, Michelle Wiggins of Beaumont, Graham Reiff of Dallas and Caitlin Reiff of Katy; great-grandchildren, Haylee Westerterp, Chase Strong and Talen Brown; sisters, Virginia Beesler and her husband, Nelson and Wilma Miller; and brothers, Charles Crabtree and his wife, Cathy and Art Crabtree and his wife, Dot, all of Ohio.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of sixty years, Richard “Stoney” Stonnell; and four brothers.

 

A gathering of her family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A family committal will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont at a later date, under the direction of Broussard’s.
