Esther L. Tegge, 85, of Port Neches died January 14, 2012 at The Meadows of Orange. Born March 17, 1926 in Granger, Texas, she was the daughter of Rosa Simcik Shirpik and Henry Shirpik and had been a resident of the area since 1955. She was the landlord and owner of the Woodcrest Apartments in Port Neches.
She is survived by her sons, Russell Tegge and his wife, Bonnie of Bridge City and David Tegge and his partner Fred Josephson of Galveston sister, Loretta Lange of Austin; brother, Ted Hejl; and grandsons, Justin Tegge of LaPorte and Jake Tegge of Austin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Tegge; her parents; aunt and uncle, Ann and Willie Hejl; sister and brother-in-law, Annie and Ben Leshiker; and brothers, Henry Shirpik and Albert Shirpik.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Broussard’s Chapel, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland followed by burial at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday evening, January 17, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
