Wynne Hickman McNeil, 76, of New Braunfels, died Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at Kirkwood Manor in New Braunfels.
She was born December 1, 1935, to Grace Cowart Hickman and Jack Hickman in Beaumont. After her marriage in 1951, she resided in Houston with her husband and family until she moved to New Braunfels in 2005.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. During her life she worked for The Kay Company, St. Joe Paper Company, Sears, Roger’s Hamburgers, Ry-Ron, and retired as a mailroom supervisor from Insurance Benefits Specialist.
Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Hine and her husband, Jim of New Braunfels, Sharon Wade and her husband, Jim, and Sheryl Dixon and her husband, John both of Houston; daughter-in-law, Sarah McNeil of Colmesneil; grandchildren, Ryan Read and his wife, Leslie of Fort Worth, Mike Hine and his wife, Janice of Sperry, Iowa, Aaron Read and his wife, Helen of Fort Worth, David Hine and his wife, Jennifer of Kyle, Spencer Wade of Fort Worth, Lindsay Wade, Allie Dixon, Jess Dixon, Lillie Dixon, all of Houston, Jessica Glynn and her husband, Jeri of Seattle, Washington, Ashley Self and her husband, Gerry of Huntington, and Brittany Rawls and her husband, Timothy of Colmesneil; great-grandchildren, Abby Read, Gavin Read, Cooper Read, Nathan Hine, Randy Hine, Stella Hine, Nick Shimkus, Maddox Shimkus, Michael Wirfs, Alex Wirfs, Logan Self, Addison Rawls, Jaelyn Rawls; sister, Gwynne Smith of Lumberton; brother, Sonny Hickman of Grapeland; sister-in-law, Alice Dotson of Jasper; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd McNeil; her parents; son, Terry McNeil; and granddaughter, Wendy Read.
A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 6, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
