Bettie O. Horne Childress, 84, of Beaumont, died Friday, January 14, 2011. Born April 26, 1926, to Lois Stocks and William Horne, in Lawson Arkansas, Bettie spent most of her life in the Beaumont area. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church in Arkansas and attended Lamar Baptist Church in Beaumont.
She is survived by her son, Lloyd K. Childress, Jr. of Austin; daughter, Roxane Seholm of Beaumont; grandchildren, Stacy Childress, David Seholm, Libby Seholm, all of Beaumont and Richard Childress, of Austin; great-grandchildren, Ashleigh Mears, Jacob Mears, Corey Meras, and Brandon Pyatt; and brother, W.H. Horne of El Dorado, Arkansas.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd K. Childress, Sr.; and grandson, Lloyd K. “Bo” Childress, III.
Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. January 19, 2011, at Broussard’s 1605 N. Major Drive with a burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of her family and friends will be Tuesday, January 18, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
