Barbara June Frank
June 27, 1928 - November 18, 2010
Barbara June Frank passed away November 18, 2010. She was born in Beaumont on June 27, 1928, the eldest of two daughters of Percy G. Choate and Estelle Gould Choate and graduated from St. Anthony High School.
After high school, she worked as a sales clerk at the White House Department Store. Through a family friend, she met her beloved husband of sixty-one years, E.L. (Pete) Frank. They married in October of 1948 and had four children.
Barbara was an active member in all of her children/grandchildren’s activities including Boy Scouts, PTA, choir, orchestra, cheerleading and soccer.
Once her children were grown, she devoted her time as a teacher’s aide at St. Anne Catholic School. Ms. Barbara, as she was affectionately known, touched the hearts of all of “her children.” Upon retirement, she spent her time caring for her mother, raising grandchildren and supporting her family. She had an uncanny ability to know when her family needed her, whether physically or emotionally. Without fail, she would call just when you needed her the most.
An avid gardener, she took pride in her flower gardens. Rarely did you leave without a cutting or seedling. She loved to share her bounty.
She will be remembered most for her gift of unconditional love, from doctoring and feeding abandoned animals, patching up skinned knees of all the neighborhood kids, caring for elderly neighbors or feeding those down on their luck. She never hesitated if someone was in need and never asked for anything in return. Her love knew no boundaries and she was greatly loved by all. The Heavens shine brighter now.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Pete, who passed away in August of this year; sister, Nancy Kilman of Katy; son, Patrick (Mickey) Frank of Beaumont; daughters Candie Wright of California, Sandy Bahr of Beaumont, Michele Warren of Missouri; granddaughters Elisse Wright of California and Ceridyn Wood of Beaumont; grandson Ciaran Warren of Beaumont as well as brother/sister-in law Norman and Shirley Frank of Lamarque and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Oaks at Beaumont for their love and support for both of our parents as well as our family.
Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 2010, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at China Cemetery in China. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 26, 2010, at Broussard’s.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
