I am one of the neighbors that Barbara took care of.... It’s impossible to describe her gentle and supportive nature. Barbara helped me face the devastating loss of Rita. Huge oak and pine trees lay on my property, and I could not afford to move them. FEMA enabled me to acquire a used RV, but the destroyed trees were everywhere. "Just don't look at them, honey," she said. Gradually, by not looking, I was able to pick up the other pieces of my life until I could afford to clear the land. There are hundreds of other things she helped me cope with...but, Rita was the biggest. Today, I try not to look at her house. Maybe eventually, I’ll be able to go on without her and Pete next door, but for now, it’s one day at a time.

My Dear Family , I brought Holy Communion to your Mom and your Dad when he was visiting. She was in so much pain but was always sweet to us. Your Dad was a Veteran as was I and I loved his stories. I thank God for what they did for our country because it made my job easier when I went to service. She is resting and united to her loved ones.

Dear Sandy,
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I know it has been a difficult few months for you and your family, but know that your mother is free at last and she is with your father. If you need anything, don't hesitate to call.

I met Mrs. Frank in 2002 at Regina Howell Elementary. She was waiting to pick up her granddaughter while I was waiting for my son, and one day we began talking. We talked most school days for the next three years. I always looked forward to our chats.
She was a lovely woman, who I am very glad I had the good fortune to meet.
