Johnnie Strimple, 81, of Port Bolivar died January 6, 2010, at his residence. Johnnie was a native of Needville, Texas and had lived in the Port Bolivar area since 1932. He worked as a boilermaker with Local 132 before retiring.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 09, 2010, at the Port Bolivar United Methodist Church, Madison Avenue at 12th Street with burial to follow in the Port Bolivar Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be from 12 Noon until the service time.
Johnnie is survived by his sons, Kenneth Strimple and his wife Rosie and Johnnie Strimple, Jr.; brother, Alfred Strimple; sister, Bessie Schultz all of Port Bolivar; grandchildren, Jacob Strimple and his fiancé Rebecca Davis, Hunter Strimple, Jessica Kensworthy, Anthony Callaway and numerous relatives and friends.
