Lilith Juanita Hunter Romig

Lilith
Juanita Romig, 95, loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and great-grandmother,
went to be with the Lord on April 19, 2016, in Plumas Lake, California. She was
born on October 29, 1920, to Byard and Ailsie Hunter, in Green Ridge, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Alfred O. Romig.
Also, preceding her in death was ten of her siblings. Survivors include one
sister, Erma Lee Brown of Kansas; Additional survivors include her son, Keith
Edward Romig of Plumas Lake, California; nephew, Rouel Rothenberger, Jr. and
wife, Cheryl, of Azle, Texas; grandchildren, Chad Romig and his wife,
Nicolette, of Rocklin, California; Slade Romig and wife, Heather, of Roseville,
California; Trey Rothenberger and wife, Kristi, of Kingwood; and Shane
Rothenberger and wife, Deneise, of Fort Worth; and three great-granddaughters,
five great-grandsons, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers
are Gary Rothenberger, Sr., David Hunter, Byard Earl Hunter, David Wharton,
Brian Mitchell, and James Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Jim Stansel and
Trey Rothenberger.
Lilith
and Alfred were married and moved to Winnie in 1938 and later worked as grocers
in Devers. In 1953, they moved to China and there managed Benoit’s Grocery
Store until they retired in 1981. They were very active in the China United
Methodist Church. After Alfred’s passing, Lilith moved in 1995 to Rocklin,
California, to live with her son.
The
family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
China United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 8, China, Texas 77613.
A
gathering of Mrs. Romig’s family and friends will begin at 9:30 a.m. with her
funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 29, 2016, at
Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with her interment to follow at
Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
