Wayne
Thomas Melancon, 67, of Beaumont, died Thursday, February 18, 2016, at Christus
Hospital-St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on November 24, 1948, to Agnes
Rita Talbot and Ulysses Joseph Melancon, in Franklin, Louisiana, and was a
veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
Survivors
include his wife, Shirleen Melancon; son, Chad Michael Melancon and his wife,
Jennifer, of Houston; brothers, Larry Melancon and his wife, Frieda, of
Franklin and Ken Melancon and his wife, Jacqueline, of Victorville, California;
sister, Carolyn Johnston and her husband, Tommy, of Trinity, Texas and Jan
Percle and her husband, Glenn, of Marrero, Louisiana; and numerous nieces and
nephews.
A
gathering of Mr. Melancon’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until
8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major
Drive, Beaumont. An additional gathering of family and friends will be from
6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., Friday, February
26, 2016, Ibert’s Mortuary, 1007 West Main Street, Franklin, Louisiana. A
gathering will begin at 9:00 a.m., with a memorial mass at 11:00 a.m.,
Saturday, February 27, 2016, at Church of the Assumption, 915 Main Street,
Franklin, Louisiana. Inurnment will follow at Franklin Cemetery under the
direction of Ibert’s Mortuary.
