Joel
H. Chesnut, 79, of Beaumont, died Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Christus
Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on November 5, 1935, in
Jacksonville, Texas, to Dezzie Massengill Chesnut and Randolph Chesnut, and had
been a longtime resident of Beaumont.
Joel had been a member of the Masonic Lodge for fifty years.
He
is survived by his wife of sixty years, Allyne Chesnut; son, Allan Chesnut and
his wife, Beverly, of Jasper; sister, June Crosby and her husband, J.O., of
Jacksonville; grandchildren, Samuel Chesnut, of Jasper and Andrew
Chesnut, of Tyler; and many nieces and nephews.
Joel
is preceded in death by his parents; brother, William Chesnut; sister, Virginia
Mays; daughter, Kimberly Chesnut; and grandchildren, Betty Chesnut and Amy
Chesnut.
A
memorial service for Mr. Chesnut will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 21, 2015,
at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His committal was held at
Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
