Robert “Bob” McGinley,
65, of Spring, Texas, died Friday, July 10, 2015, in Houston. He was born on
November 11, 1949, in Missouri, to Ruth Evangeline Garnett McGinley and Robert
Joseph McGinley.
After graduating from Forest
Park High School in Beaumont, Bob received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in
Business Administration from the University of Texas, Austin. Bob had a thirst
for learning and an encyclopedic knowledge of a wide range of topics. He was a
proud Longhorn and collected lots of memorabilia over the years. Bob also loved
University of Texas football, collecting coins and stamps, woodworking, movies,
and music. In the past, he also enjoyed bicycling in the Colorado Mountains
with his friends. Bob was very kindhearted and giving. He had a sweetness and
goodness that radiated from him. Bob will be deeply missed by all who loved
him.
Survivors include his
sisters, Susan M. Peterson and her husband, James, of Abita Springs, Louisiana;
Nancy E. McGinley of Arlington, Virginia; sister-in-law, Denise M. Kura and her
husband, Randy, of Beaumont; close friend, Jo Ann Hensel of Beaumont; cousins and friends.
Bob is preceded in
death by his parents; and brother, Thomas S. McGinley.
A gathering of Mr.
McGinley’s family and friends will be from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.,
Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. His
funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3430
Harrison Avenue, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park,
Beaumont.
