Wilfred "Plut" Abshire

Wilfred “Plut” Abshire, 94, of
Port Arthur, died Saturday, May 2, 2015. He was born on September 18, 1920, in
Morse, Louisiana, to Anna Villijohn and Theo Abshire.
Wilfred was a United States
Army/Air Force veteran having served in World War II. He retired from Texaco as
a machinist after thirty-eight years of service.
Survivors include his daughter, Diana
Abshire of Port Arthur; sons, Kirty Abshire and his wife, Terry, of Mount
Olivet, Kentucky and Lee Abshire and his wife, Nancy, of Rapid City, South
Dakota; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his
parents; his wife, Ruby Abshire; three sisters; and two brothers.
A gathering of Mr. Abshire’s
family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 7,
2015, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Mass of
Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 8, 2015, at St.
Therese, The Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church, 6412 Garnet Avenue, Port
Arthur. His interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County,
Nederland.
