“Patsy” Purks, 80, of Lumberton, died Friday,
March 27, 2015. She was born on October
6, 1934, in Beaumont, to Helen Hagy McDaniel
and L.C. McDaniel.
Patsy loved her
children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with all her heart. There is nothing she wouldn’t do for
them. Patsy was a giving person to many
that she met, especially her Lumberton
Primary School
family. There was many a child who was
able to eat lunch, have school pictures taken, or have school supplies due to
Patsy’s generosity. She never liked
seeing anyone doing without something they needed.
Survivors
include her children, Gary Purks and his wife, Jennifer and Robert Purks and
his wife, Lecia, all of Lumberton; and Brian
Purks of Baton Rouge, Louisiana;
grandchildren, Jeffrey Purks and his wife, Heather; Jessica Purks; Scott Purks
and his girlfriend, Caitlyn Cunningham; and Mark Purks and his wife, Heather;
great-grandchildren, Andrew Purks, Audrey Purks, Jasmine Purks, Nevaeh Purks,
and Gabriella Purks; sister, Eloise Pevoto; and many other loving family and
friends. She is preceded in death by her
parents; husband, Jimmy Purks; and sister, Georgie Mae McDaniel.
The family would
like to thank Gary and Jennifer, Jessica Purks, Martisha Williams, Home Instead
caregivers, and New Century Hospice for the care they gave to Patsy.
A gathering of
Mrs. Purks’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday,
March 30, 2015, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road,
Silsbee. Her funeral service will be
1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at Broussard’s, with her interment to
follow at Forest Lawn
Memorial Park, Beaumont.
