Judy and James, I am so very sorry to hear about Mildred. She and Samp were so very special to me and the children. Mildred became my "mom" in every way when I lost mother. She was always there, whether I was worrying, laughing or crying. She and Samp will always hold a special place in my heart and my memories. I wish I could have been with you today. There are no words to take away sadness at a time like this. I hope the knowledge that all who knew your mother and father loved them helps and that their time on earth was well spent. I wish you and yours strength and comfort. Friday, April 5, 2013 |

James and Judy, I know you probaly do not remember me from North End Methodist because I was much younger than you. You may have know my Parents - Carl and Mary Rush. My Dad taught College and Career Class at One time and not sure if you were in it when he did. But wanted you to know how much of an influence your mother had on so many of us in the church. I was one of those who was in their MYF group for 4,5,6 graders. I remember learning all of the creeds and books of the bible. I still have the cards in my Red bible that I received in thrid grade for learning those items. Also the devotionals in "Little Visits With God". She was one of the main religious influences in my life as a child. She taught us to Love one Another, be tolerant of others, and to be kind. I do not believe I ever saw her angry or without a smile on her face. I also enjoyed the outing with MYF to Putt-Putt and to your home on Forrest Street. What a magical house to a young person. It was so big and had exciting items everywhere. And the smells out of the kitchen were awesome. I can almost smell the Christmas cookies baking. After I was married I would see her at the Mall doing her daily walking - always thinking of mind and body. I would ask about you andher grandchildren and she would always have great stories of pride to tell. Prayer for you and your family as your deal with her loss and remember her memories. And Oh what meories. Friday, April 5, 2013 |
