Mrs. Sampson is the best next door neighbor we could possibly have. One of many special memories I have is when she taught me how to sew. She is a great lady. I dearly love and will miss her. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 |

James, my prayers are with you, Judy and your families. I am so sorry for your loss. Your mother and father are one of my favorite memories from our high school days. They were very special people and so many of us are better for having known them. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 |

The last of her generation on the Sampson family, Aunt Mildred was the one who cut and curled hair and helped Mother sew all our recital dresses and prom gowns. A constant and faithful presence at Old North End, she formed the Junior MYF, for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders, a concept not yet embraced by the church. "If these children want a group, they shall have a group." She held us to a gentle rigidity and set the example of following the rules - especially the Golden Rule. Childhood memories of the General Card Company and Freeto; pear salad when we were sick and stopping the games in the big yard for nap time, flow into puzzles and games and swift walks in the mall. Aunt Mildred was a staunch supporter when I had to make hard choices for my mom and dad and I will remain forever grateful for her support in those difficult days. Our last times together were Thanksgiving Dinner with her family in Houston where we were always greeted by her sweet smile. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 |
