James,
I was saddened to hear of your mother's passing. Our last visit was at the Class of '57 Reunion.
She has always been in that Pantheon of great teachers who impacted my life: Bob Reid and James Woods at Baylor; Jere Williams at UT Law, Hazel Chambless, Mary Damrel and your mother at NHS and junior high.
Liz and my thoughts and prayers are with you and the family in this time of mutual loss.

"Miss" Gleason taught generations of my family, myself included. I have fond memories of her as a great teacher and influence on my life. It was a joy to be reunited with her in the past several years when I visited my niece Lydia Andrews on the occasions of Thanksgivings. We spent many hours remembering things long forgotten; a lot of smiles, laughter and good humor. As long as I live, I will be her student.

I always enjoyed going to Mrs. Gleason's bookkeeping class. She was not only an excellent teacher, but very professional in her approach to teach bookkeeping. The only way to make the journal entries, was the right way and everything came out even, clean and lined up. I still use the skills she taught in my job today. Her memory will live own.
