Steve "Coach" Mack Shaver, Sr.
May 6, 1940 - March 1, 2013
Fred Armstrong (Friendswood, TX)

Coach was inspiration to so many young men throughout the years. It is a tribute to him that I saw so many former players of his who are now in the coaching and teaching profession at the viewing last night. Coach has inspired many of us (myself included) to enter this profession to leave legacies like Coach did. I only hope that I do as good of job as he did as a mentor, husband, and father.. To the family, take comfort in the fact that Coach lives on in the lives of every young man he touched.

Mr. & Mrs. Ken Wiginton (Lampasas, TX)

The greatest tribute a person can have is that they had a positive influence on a lot of lives . Steve Shaver has that legacy. And I consider it a privilege and an honor to say that Steve was my friend and team mate on the 1961 Lone Star Conference Football Champions
