I am sorry to have heard of Wayne's passing so late. We served together in the Navy Band in the early 1970s and I still remember him coming to the band and we arrived about the same time. We toured and played concerts all over the country. I remember him as a truly outstanding musician and trombonist and we worked closely as I was the principle euphonium soloist during that time. Not only, however, was he a consummate musician, he was truly a wonderful individual with a caring and gentle personality. A true friend during that time together in the service of our country. I can't believe that he is gone from our presence here on earth but look forward to seeing him in the future on the other side of the veil. My condolences to his family. Dr. Brian L. Bowman, Regents Professor of Euphonium, the University of North Texas. Wednesday, January 4, 2017 |

Dear Linda and family, Mark and I were heartbroken to hear of Wayne's illness and, now, of his passing. We thought so much of him.Wayne shared sunshine werever he was. With all his talent, I never saw any ego. He was always so generous with appreciation for others and we always were ready for another opportunity to work with him. Any and every project that I worked on with Wayne was a pleasant one, due to Wayne's kindness, sweetness and support. I hope that you know that so many wish we could somehow lessen your grief. Our most sincere condolences, Mark & Lou Arrington Sunday, March 10, 2013 |
