I always encouraged Sterling to write and give his testimony in Celebrate Recovery. I knew that still waters ran deep. Even in death your life is a witness for Christ. Sterling, you are an inspiration to me. We will miss your quiet presence with us, but rejoice in your presence with our Lord. Well done, you good and faithful servant!!! Tuesday, June 19, 2012 |

I met Sterling a few years ago at one of our church dinners. He was so sweet and cheerful. He told me his story and I saw how God had done a good work in his life from it. I can see by all the kind words of others that Sterling left a legacy behind that will never be forgotten. He was a man after Gods heart I bet God is saying well done my servant.I am so glad I met him. He was a joy to be around. We need more people like him but God had other plans. He will be deeply missed.

Thank you for being our friend and for all the good years we spent with you. Such a wonderful, giving and God loving person to all who knew you. So grateful we were able to help you at a crucial time in your life, but as it turned out, you were the one helping us in more ways than we knew. What a Godsend you were to our father Leon Sanford in his time of need, for just being there was a huge help to ease our worries. I don't think we realized how active and busy you were with the church and your other activities, because you were always available when our dad needed you. You were there with us when our dad took his last breath and little did we know you would leave us the following week. There is a very special place for you in Heaven and in our hearts forever. Rest in Pease dear friend.

I met Sterling for the first time at my husband's grandfathers funeral,Leon Sanford. Sterling was very kind and sweet. He lived with PeePaw and provided friendship and much, much more! I can tell by all of these messages he was a man of God and he is now with his maker enjoying eternal life. May God bless his family through this difficult time and may Sterling know just how much he was loved and appreciated by so many! Tuesday, June 19, 2012 |

I am sending my deepest sympathies to Sterling's family. We went to South Park High School together and I remember him with fondness. Monday, June 18, 2012 |
