Mildred was one of the kindest and truly funniest people I have ever met. She had a smile that was infectious, and always knew just what to say to make things a little better. Mildred had one of the best attitudes towards trying new things of anyone I knew. I will never forget one cold day towards the end of the summer in Jackson I convinced Mildred and my mom to bundle up and go on a drive out to the park and for dinner at Signal (piled high nachos of course with nothing but a sundae to complete the meal). The drive up was brisk, at best, but the drive back, in an open top Wrangler, was just frigid and brutal. We all laughed and huddled together, shivering all the way back into town.
Mildred, I will never pass a Maverick without thinking about fro yo and you, never eat a lobster without thinking about Friday nights with you and my mom, never pass Hotel Monacco without thinking about our road trip, never go to Bozeman without thinking about our "puppy free" hotel, never enter a Starbucks without thinking about your mocha frappaccuino, never go to Noras without thinking about blue cheese mushrooms shared, never go to the Bunnery without thinking about your pancakes, crispy bacon and milk, never play with my dogs without thinking about "peanut" and chew kissing you, Brody hugging your face, and monkey sitting on your pillow...all the while your face is plastered with a huge smile, never getting upset at the overwhelming amount of attention from the fur babies. I will miss your humor, your smile, your accent, your heart, and your friendship. Thanks for sharing some amazing times and so many laughs!
And... for sure know I would not get sprayed by a skunk for just anyone, only you Mildred :)
My thoughts are with you, and your family. So sorry.

Mildred, the times that we shared were so amazing and so special. I hold you, and your memory close to my heart. You truly were not only a special person, and a dear friend but someone who just radiated kindness and had an infectious laugh. From the amazing trips that we took, to the hootenanny’s that we attended, to the evenings when we just sat and watched tv, I will miss you, and your friendship. I am praying for you, and your family. Friday, April 20, 2012 |

My sincere sympathies are extended to Mildred's family. Mildred was a heroic supporter of the Galveston Island Humane Society, programs of The Galveston Junior League and dedicated to St. Peter the Apostle Church which was lost to Ike. The difference she made in my personal life in the last year will never be forgotten. Tonka Lane Friday, April 20, 2012 |

Mildred was not only a neighbor on Thomas Road, for many years, but a friend. I have kept up with her through the years through mutural friends, and have always respected her privacy in Galveston. It is with deep regret that I must say to Ed and Kathryn, that I extend my deepest sympathy to you and your family. She was one of the finest people I have ever had the privilege of knowing. My fondest memory of her was her love of life. Warm thoughts, Anita Savino Fournier Thursday, April 19, 2012 |

I will always remember the many fun times that I had with you in the sixties. You and your family meant a lot to me. May God be with you. Tom Sibley Thursday, April 19, 2012 |
