I met Richard when I was a young reporter at The Beaumont Enterprise. Given that we covered the same towns, we bumped into one another frequently. He was kind and patient, and his asides during trials were absolutely hilarious, as were many of his other observations. Thank you, Richard, for all of the insight you shared with a green reporter. You will be missed by many.
