last year there was a beautiful documentary about jan van Beveren on dutch tv and what hit me the most was that jan (after living in the US for over thirty years and feeling a 100% american,as he stated)would not exchange his Dutch citizenship for american citizenship,he just couldn't . mr van Beveren may you rest in peace and may god give strenght to your family and the people who loved and appreciated you! let me end with a dutch proverb "you can take a Dutchman out of Holland but you can't take Holland out of a Dutchman" Tuesday, June 28, 2011 |

Jan was my trainer for a number of years, and I enjoyed every second with him on and off the field. He always had great words of wisdom to tell us and I'll bring them around with me all my life. He always knew how to make me smile whether it was his jokes, stories or his contagious smile. He's a great man and my role model. He will be in my heart forever. I love you Jan and miss you terribly. Save a spot for me in Heaven.

There are some people that leave lasting impressions on your life...Jan was one of those people. Our entire family is very lucky to have been able to get to know Jan and have him train our boys. Our one regret....we didn't have more time with Jan. God Bless the family and prayers to you all. Tuesday, June 28, 2011 |
