I've know Ted for over 50 yrs. He always treated me like a younger brother. Always checking on me and my family. His concern was geniune. When I was down, he would lift me up. When he was down, I would try to be there for him. Rarely was it the latter. He never complained, always had the answers. I have had so many fond memories with him, especially when he would call and tell me how stupid the LSU coach was during the football season. The greatest was Ted's ranting and raging, and screaming over the famous "17 second no clue what to do game last year. I saw all of the family for the memorial service. Wade was astonished at how many people were there. He would really have been impressed if we did it in White Castle, Durango, D'ville, Thibodaux, and I guess in Egypt also, cause Caffarel was everywhere taking care of people. If you ever wondered if God loved you......your answer was a big yes...if he let you meet Ted Caffarel. A big red headed, man's man, loving and caring for everyone. In his eulogy, Franny Mury said Ted had been bored lately so he decided to do the pilot thing again. Well after talking to so many that said how Ted had been there for them, I do not knnow how he had time to be bored. I love you my big brother. I still do not believe it. To the family, I am at your disposal. I love you all! Monday, July 12, 2010 |

To Ted's Family, We were Ted's next door neighbors in Thibodaux, LA, and as many others have stated, quickly became best friends. We hunted and fished together, shared many a meal (a few drinks), and raised our kids together. Ted was such a special person and my entire family is extremely saddened by his premature passing. Kristi, Wade, and the rest of Ted's family...our prayers are with you. Regards, Ed Havard Monday, July 12, 2010 |
