Mine and my familys heart goes out to the Shrontz family. I just lost my father about a month ago and know how it feels to loose a loved one. I have never met a man with so much compassion for his work and his patients. If there were more doctors like him there would be less suffering in this world. I was a patient of his and I dont think I will ever find a doctor that I can trust as much as I could trust him. Rest in Peace Dr. Shrontz. May God Bless you and your family. Here is a poem that was read at my fathers funeral and I wish to share it with the Shrontz family.

Heaven’s Grocery Store

As I was walking down life's highway many years ago
I came upon a sign that read Heavens Grocery Store.

When I got a little closer the doors swung open wide
And when I came to myself I was standing inside. I saw a host of angels.

They were standing everywhere One handed me a basket
and said "My child shop with care."

Everything a human needed was in that grocery store
And what you could not carry you could come back for more

First I got some Patience. Love was in that same row.
Further down was Understanding, you need that everywhere you go.

I got a box or two of Wisdom and Faith a bag or two.
And Charity of course I would need some of that too.

I couldn't miss the Holy Ghost it was all over the place.
And then some Strength and Courage to help me run this race.

My basket was getting full but I remembered I needed Grace,
And then I chose Salvation for Salvation was for free
I tried to get enough of that to do for you and me.

Then I started to the counter to pay my grocery bill,
For I thought I had everything to do the Masters will.

As I went up the aisle I saw Prayer and put that in,
For I knew when I stepped outside I would run into sin.

Peace and Joy were plentiful, the last things on the shelf.
Song and Praise were hanging near so I just helped myself.

Then I said to the angel "Now how much do I owe?"
He smiled and said "Just take them everywhere you go."

Again I asked "Really now, How much do I owe?"
"My child" he said, "God paid your bill long, long time ago."

My prayers are with the family of Dr. Shrontz, a wonderful doctor I first met while working @ St. E's in 1988. I never thought then that he would become my dr.He did his 1st surgery on me in 1997 & helped me to continue working as an LVN which I was so grateful for. Then in '05 I needed him again, and I have depended on Dr.Shrontz so much. He is going to be greatly missed for his kindness, his smiles, the care he gave his patients. There is no other like Dr. Shrontz & never will there be.I know he is in Heaven with God now, may that be a comfort to his family. God bless Mrs. Shrontz & daughters & all other family members, my thoughts & prayers are with you.

Nancy & Larry Beaulieu (Beaumont, TX)

Dr. Shrontz and his sweet wife, a medical talent in her own right, were there for us through the most difficult time of my life following my mother's cerebral hemorrage. Carl's talented hands bought us a precious few months with mother--time to share our love and say goodbye, and his big heart and great wisdom took time to talk to me long after she was no longer "his case", to reassure me that the choices I was making for her made sense and that the time was short. I will never forget him, nor the gift he gave me, and I know I'm only one of hundreds. This world could do with a few more Carl Shrontz folks. Love to all of you--our prayers are with you as you walk this valley and miss this precious man. Nancy Beaulieu

I didn't know Dr. Shrontz for very long, but he was one of the nicest men I have ever know.

Michael Allen (Beaumont, TX)

I met Dr. Shrontz almost 20 years ago when he fixed my lower back the first time due to an on the job injury. He was a great man and an even better doctor. Once when I went to see the head neurosurgeon for the Houston Astros instead, that doctor told me he couldn't understand why any of us from this area would waste their time going to Houston when Beaumont already had the best caliber of doctor in Dr. Shrontz.
Over the years he has operated on me six times and all were for different areas in my back and neck, I never hesitated to do whatever I wanted because I knew he could always fix me! We were talking about snow skiing out at work a few weeks ago and they couldn't understand why I would still consider going with the history of my back, but they just didn't know Dr. Shrontz. I sure am going to miss him, as a Dr. and a friend.
