Carl E. Shrontz, M.D.
December 29, 1953 - January 23, 2010
Sue Allen (Beaumont, TX)

Years ago my niece was received a head injury in a boating accident, and when we got to St. E's ER, Dr. Shrontz was called. For weeks I watched him care for her, and her family. He was impressive, and encouraging even when there was not much hope. Today, she is married and just became a first time mom, and most people do not notice the remaining effects of her injury. My family always considered him the best physician possible.

My sympathy to his family. You will be in my prayers in the days ahead, as you learn to live without this fine man.

When I first met Dr. Shrontz, I had been suffering with severe low back pain and sciatica for over 3 years. I had been to a very prominent orthopedic surgeon in Port Arthur who offered me no compassion and no hope of any kind of quick recovery. Then I met Dr. Shrontz. Within 5 seconds of looking at my MRI, he simply said, "we can fix this." And he did. To someone who was having back surgery at the age of 24, it was truly a blessing to have someone like Dr. Shrontz in my corner. He always fought for the best interests of his patients and took a genuine interest in their lives--both before and after surgery. I can honestly say I've never met a more gifted physician, surgeon, or overall human being. Your family are in my prayers!
