It is with profound sadness and desperate grief that I write you this letter, beloved son. I carried you not knowing that your days were numbered! I wish I had savored every moment, instead of whispered complaints about backaches, sleepless nights, and unending nausea. Despite this, you were precious to me from the moment I knew I was pregnant...I loved you then and I love you now. You are my heart's joy and delight...and you are now with Christ, what a glorious thought! It fills me with joy to know that while I mourn you here on earth, you are smiling and laughing with Christ in Heaven. What a relief it is to know that you are being cared for by the One who loves you the most!
I imagine your joyful smile, warm brown eyes, and irrepressible spirit...toes like your dad and perhaps my cheeks and chin? I will continue to imagine you through the stages of your life so that when I meet you in Glory one day, we shall not be strangers.
As the Bible promises, this life is fleeting...a mere moment in the vacuum of eternity. I love you and will see you soon, dearest son! One day, my child, our entire family will be together...what a joyful reunion when all five of us, your sibling and parents, are reunited at last.
