I'm so happy I had the privilege of meeting you both as well as the opportunity to talk, pray, and kiss my precious friend, Diane just a week before her home going. She was truly one of my closest friends, and I loved her deeply.

With the passing of Diane Baker we have lost a great educational icon. Diane was truly “one of a kind.” We began our careers together and I had the privilege to be her colleague and friend. I always admired her tenacity, sense of humor, caring, commitment to excellence, high standards and always, always, always putting “Kids first! She was a true blessing to anyone who knew her. Diane’s belief that all students deserved a great education and no one subset of students should benefit over others was to me a hallmark of her vision of how education and social justice are so interconnected. May the comfort of the grace of God be with your family through this difficult time. God gained another Angel!
