Janie Whiteley Williams (Harrison, AR)

My very favorite first cousin....Johnny. What a loss to our family. I think I remember the regard with which he held my own family, his Uncle Mutt and Aunt Betty, myself and my sister Doralyn, our husbands andl our children. Johnny loved my daddy, especially, and he loved to spend time with his uncle, who took him hunting, talked with him, and who loved him like a son. I also want to pay tribute to Johnny and Carol when my daughter Cherie's husband was in a very serious auto accident in 2011. Johnny came to be with them and showed them much caring; Cherie is eternally grateful for this time and loved him for that visit. Johnny loved family and friends, and doing for others Death never comes at a perfect time and unfortunately I'm unable to meet with Carol or Linda or even attend the funeral as I am in Virginia staying with my mother who is 90 years young. I would have been there if my trip could have been rescheduled. But, please know that my heart is with all of you. Darrick, thank you so much for making that call to me. I sincerely appreciated that you called. I hope we can stay in contact with one another. I love you all. Janie Ruth......

Carol & family, I am so sadden to hear of your loss. Johnny was my neighbor and childhood idol growing up. I remember riding his go-cart and climbing in the Exporters scoreboard of the ball field in our backyards. I have so many great memories of growing up with Johnny and his family on Elgie St. On this Easter weekend, you and your family are in my prayers.

Charlene Martin (Richmond, TX)

I was so excited when I heard Johnny had retired. I had plans for us. I love to golf and I wanted to get him on the course. I knew we would have a great deal of fun. I thought he may take me fishing. I love to fish, but I have no one to fish with. We grew up together, only a few blocks from each other. I always loved being with him. We have played a lot of games. I have wonderful memories and was looking forward to building new ones. My heart is broken that we won't have that time together. I love you and will miss you. Your Cousin Charlene
