Alton O. Laird
July 25, 1947 - October 31, 2014
A close friend ()

Alton was inspirational for me. Though I am not a believer, he made me almost want to be believe. I was in constant awe witnessing his works ranging from his community and church service to his mentorship of the halfway house felonies -- Alton just quietly inspired all around him. He was a humble, honest man with nothing to prove that walked with a strength and conviction few others match.
Alton had humor and grace even in his final hours, expressing concern over in his business, family, and the house plants. Even at deaths door he was organizing and plotting, working and giving orders. Most of all he loved his family. The loss of Alton had a ripple affect leaving this world just that much darker and less idealistic for those of us left behind. If there is a heaven, rest assured, Alton is up there looking down on us quietly judging the way we are moving our lawn. :). RIP big guy, we miss and love you.
