Uncle Mike,

your love for your family was impeccable and was always shown through your actions. It gives me peace & joy to know that you just moved to a different address which is of heaven and that we will see you very soon! In the meantime I wanted to list a few reasons why you are that "Cool" Uncle!

1. When we were kids you would come pick us up in your red jeep with the top down to spend the night.

2. You were the only person I knew who had a big talking bird.

3. The time you took me to your secret location spot to find those hundreds of hidden antique bottles which is still a secret today.

4. The time you drove to Huntsville and spent all day building me a loft for my bed in my tiny apartment.

5. Every time I came over I never walked out your door without you wanting to give me something.

6. When you spoke your mind I always found that funny.

7. You were a hard worker and fearless

8. You were full of many talents, but never boasted or spoke of them which made you humble.

9. You were always honest & never made excuses.

10. You always told me "to never give up no matter what," so with that I never will!

Love you,
Justin

Pastor La Nan Christopher (Bridge City, TX)

Hello everyone. I am deeply grieved by Mike's passing. I wish I would have known about his circumstances sooner so I could have visited him and prayed with him.

I will miss my BEST childhood buddy and cousin. We had MANY great family times together in Beaumont and Aunt Elsie's and my mom and dad's in Nederland.

I will try to come and say good bye Mike but I'm not sure I'm emotionally strong enough today but, maybe tomorrow. If not tomorrow I will see you later in The Sweet By and By.
Love you La Nan

When I married into the Gonzales family in 1970, Mike was a young, hilarious guy who kept me in stitches every time there was a family gathering. He was an adorable guy, a mischievous cousin liked by everyone. I'm so sorry he was taken so soon, I had no idea he was so sick. Love to all of you.
