Jimmie was an important part of my growing up years. My thoughts of him are warm and positive. His connections with my family goes back almost 70 years. Jimmie represented both Beaumont and the county with honor and dignity. He will be missed. Bonnie, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers during your sadness. Countless numbers of people share your sadness.

Jimmie was like an old southern gentlemen. He always would recognize you even if you had not seen him in years. Several years back, I saw him in the bank and he came up and spoke to me though it had been sometime since I had seen him There are not many people left like Jimmie. My sympathy goes out to the family. Beaumont has lost one of their finest. Tuesday, November 5, 2013 |

Thank you, Jimmie, for your courage in fighting for our country and securing our freedom and in your courage in fighting for human rights at home and for your fine example in how a statesman lives and acts. I am better for having known you. We all are. Tuesday, November 5, 2013 |
