Jimmie P. Cokinos
June 27, 1917 - November 5, 2013
Lee LaForge (Houston, TX)

Jimmie and Bonnie and their beautiful family have meant so much to me for so many years. Coming home every year for New Years Eve and singing the Aggie War Hymn will be an everlasting memory. Watching Jimmie and Bonnie dance at the old Red Carpet Inn was the earliest memory of a witness to their adoration of each other. I'll miss Jimmie but see him live through the eyes of Stacie and Andre. All the best old friend

"T.C." Cooper (the woodlands, TX)

So sad to hear Uncle Jimmie had passed. He had a great run. I was lucky enough to work for him when he was City Manager of Beaumont in the early 70's. I learned soooo much from him about politics, life, dealing with people from a public service culture and many other great common sense ideas. He was funny, professional and fully understood politics. I was also a proud member/ soldier in his and Uncle Mike's Army Reserve Unit in Beaumont. I owe my career to guys like him...I went on to work for the City of Houston for 30 years and retired as a Deputy Director. Very few days went by that I did not remember/use some of the political wisdom that Uncle Jimmie shared with me. He is/was a Beaumont, Texas and USA hero. RIP.

C.B. Morris (Rocky Mount, NC)

Miss Bonnie, Andrea and Stacie,
I wish I could be there to hug you all. Mr. Jimmie was one of the most influential adults while I was growing up. His honesty, good advice and cracker jack witt will stay with me forever. When David and I were getting married and Miss Bonnie and Mr. Jimmie hosted our rehearsal shower; he made a huge impression on my husband and my friends from NC. Whenever we are all together there is always a Mr. Jimmie story from that night. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, C.B.
