VerNeil was a true American hero, but was very humble when it came to acting like one. He gave of himself in so many ways, to so many people and chairitable groups. I will miss talking with him every day, but I will remember him every day for who and what he really was. To VerNeil Jr., Renee`, Nancy and the entire family -- We share in your loss and join you spiritually in your grieving.

Renee and Verneil,

What a poignant and fitting time for a man who gave so much of his life to the U.S. military to pass on. He will be missed, I am sure. What a wonderful legacy of service he left for his family to be proud of. Prayers of peace and love to you all.

I met VerNeil through the Vietnam Veterans Chapter #292. What a sweet man. My fondest memory will be seeing him in his uniform at Veterans Day celebration and how handsome he looked.

RIP VerNeil ~~much love thoughts and prayers to your family.

I was surprised to learn of VerNeil's death. My condolences to his family for his loss. I worked with him (and Mile Barrow) at Malone & Hyde so many years ago. I even bought a few calves from him. So long old friend, rest well and be at peace.
