Dear Mrs. Bourdier and Family: I am so sorry to learn of your loss. I was the oboe player in Mr. Bourdier's Dayton High School Band. Some of my fondest memories at DHS were being in his band. He taught us so much more than music. Whereas I learned to excel in all my personal endeavors, I also learned how to be a team player. His spirit was so contagious. In recent years I reconnected with him through Nelson Nolden. What a wonderful reunion we have had for the last five years. He often supported my fundraising efforts as I am a 14 year cancer survivor. My life was so enriched to have had him both as a teacher and a friend. His influence never stopped and I am a better person for having known him. So I encourage you to cherish the memories and the love that he gave to so many. May God continue to bless you and give you peace and comfort.
Always, Susan Moore-Fontenot DHS Class of '74

Terry was the person I could always count on to make me smile and laugh. He was a big kid and the life of every meeting we were in. He was an asset to the United Way system. I will miss him greatly! My love and sympathy goes out to you, Karen and your family. His love will live in each of you every day. Peace be with you! Love, Julie Martineau

Karen, Add me to the long list of friends that are deeply sorry of you and your family's lost. We will miss Terry's friendship, humor and just being a great guy. I truly believe that the greatest compliment and memory I will always have of Terry was that his name and being will always bring a smile to my face and heart.

It's impossible to list all the many life lessons, in addition to music, that I learned as a student in band at Orangefield High School. I am deeply saddened to hear of Mr. Bourdier's passing and have you all in my thoughts and prayers. The good Lord must have a fantastic new band in heaven and I'm certain I know who's leading it.
