I too was in the Class of 1976 at French. Mrs. Crittenden was a very active counselor in our lives and I know I met with her several times during my four years at FHS. She had great care and concern for my education at FHS but more importantly was concerned with my life after FHS. I did go on to obtain a law degree and I will always give Mrs. Crittenden credit for pushing me to obtain my dream of being an attorney. I am so sorry to hear of her passing and please know she will be missed by all of us in the Class of 1976 at French.

Joyce, thank you for being a Mom, Grandmother and a special, special friend to me and my family. Jason does consider you his Grandmother as Jim is his Grandfather. You were there through some good and bad times for Pat and I know that he loved you with all his heart. I will miss seeing your smiling face and most of all the love in your eyes for Jim. There was not a better Mom in the world to Noel and Jeff and I know they will miss you so much. Thanks Joyce for all the memories that I will carry with me. Love, Brenda Ford

Mrs Crittenden was our class couselor at French High School, class of 1976. We all loved her and respected her advice. Besides her mentorship skills, she was just a lot of fun to be around. I know she is responsible for helping many of us head off on a good path after high school. We will always remember her.

We were so sorry to hear of the passing of our former teacher, counselor, and friend. She was the finest example of an educator and had such an impact on our lives. She will always be remembered, never forgotten, as we were blessed to have known her. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to her wonderful family.

Jim, Noel, and Jeff. Joyce and I worked together at French High School as counselors, and became great friends. I am so very sorry to read of her passing. Whatsoever soothes your spirit, comforts your soul, brings you peace; that is what I wish for all of you at this difficult time.

I am very saddened over the death of my friend Joyce. She and I worked together at Bowie Middle School, went to graduate school at University of Houston, and both became counselors. After retirement, we would run across each other on occasion. My thoughts and prayers are with Jim, Noel and Jeff at this sad time.
