I've known Uncle Jim all my life, but I am still learning new things about him. The comments here and elsewhere and the comments about him after his initial diagnosis are wonderful, please keep them coming. I hope to see more than a few green t-shirts at the service. I was privileged to visit him less than 2 weeks before he went to Heaven. I'm happy to say he was aware enough that the visit was meaningful for both of us.

Mr. O'Brien will be remembered forever because he has touched so many lives. I loved all his stories and jokes he made me laugh all the time. He made the day brighter just by entering my office at West Brook in the morning. He talked about his family every single time I spoke with him. He loved you all dearly. Blessing are given to us all just by knowing him. Thoughts and Prayers to the family.

Dear Sylvia, My sincere condolence to you and your family. My life was made richer by knowing Jim. I guess I had not met a saint until now. He is having breakfast with The King.

My condolences to your family. It was a privilege to see Mr. O'Brien walk in the door at WB. He always had a smile on his face and was there to do more than teach the children the subject he was doing for the day. He gave children hope and inspired them to do good in life. I am sure he has a special place in Heaven.

Mr. OB, you will be greatly missed by everyone. You were one of the most influential people to ever step foot in West Brook. RIP

I teach at West Brook High School-- Jim will truly be missed. I consider myself to be extremely blessed in knowing him. He was a wonderful man and such an inspiration to all those who crossed paths with him. My four children, who all have been lucky enough to have Jim at West Brook, and I have your family in our thoughts and prayers.

Jim O'Brien was one of those special people put in our paths to help us make sense of our lives. He was that shining light on a dark day and a brilliant jewel of a man. But he would also want me ro remember him as human, with faults like the rest of us. But he always had words to help us rise above those faults and be a better human being. Jim, you will always be loved and missed beyond words! God shown through YOU to bless us all. Thank you for that. RIP JIM!

To the Jim O'Brien family, May the Lord bless and keep you in His Loving Arms at this time. I worked with Mr. O'Brien at West Brook High School in the library, He was loved by students and faculty as well. We are really going to miss him. My warmest sympathy be with you.

Such a man of faith -- he wouldn't want us to be grieving because today he's met his maker and all the loved ones who went before him, and must be just delighted. Such a blessing for him, substituting at West Brook during this point in his life, where he was admired as a godly man by all who knew him -- "a hale fellow, well met". And the way students related to him during his final years with such love and respect was incredible. Such a beloved man and a blessing for us all, as well. We are better people for having known Jim.
