To the Family of Mr Charles. I was Saddened to see the passing of Mr. Charles. He was truely an wonderful man. It would be impossible to count the number of lives that he enriched throughout his years of teaching. Being my first Band Director at PNJHS in 1968 he istilled a love for music that has continued even into my adult life. He was a fine man and a true teacher in every sense of the word he could hold the attention of the entire band hall because we never knew what joke he was going to crack or funny stunt he would do to make his point. He will be missed but he is playing his clarinet in a much bigger band today.

Harry Charles was one of a kind. He was the sweetest, most compassionate, kind, caring and witty Teacher I had at Port Neches Junior High. I remember him slinging his hair (it was long on top) and throwing his baton and, all of his sayings! (Grandma was slow, but she was old - come on!) He was truly interested in children and their education & growth. He had a love for music that inspired all who took from him. He was a fair man and exuded integrity. He laughed and cried with us. He remembered us. Now, we will always remember him. He will be missed here, but Heaven just got an enormous boost - he will brighten every spot!!! RIP, Mr. Charles. You touched so many and now you can receive your greatest reward. I know he's smiling down on us!

I, like many others, met Mr. Charles while teaching private lessons at PNG High School back in 1997. He would always greet me with a big smile and ask how I was doing. I remember many nights listening to some of his wild and crazy teaching stories, and always loved "picking his brain" for teaching ideas. He loved music, and he loved his students! He was a mentor to many, and will be missed.

I can only say that remembering Mr. Harry Charles is like remembering a breath of yesterdays memories. This man was monumental and extremely a decisive factor in making me the person that I am today! He lived a long and very productive life and brought great joy and education to many folks in life. What a great revelation to leave behind. God bless you Mr. Charles ...you will always be remembered!

Carey, I know I don't have to tell you how wonderful your father was. He touched so many lives. There are so many teachers that we forget as the years go by. But, I think everyone who had your dad at PNJH will always remember him. He had a special gift for teaching, music, and humor! Everyone who walked through those band hall doors loved him! Thinking and praying for you and your family during your time of loss.

My deepest sympathies to Mr. Charles' family in your loss. He was a wonderful person and your memories of him will be ever so precious. I will be lifting you up in prayer and may God comfort you and embrace all of you with his grace during this difficult time.
Mr. Charles was a wonderful teacher, one of my favorites, and I thought of him so very often over the years. I now know that he had the patience of Job to have taught and worked with junior high students. Rest in peace, Mr. Charles, until we meet again.
