I got to know Anita when she made a glorius quilt commemorating the Centennial of Spindleop in 2001. She was a talented and gifted lady with a unique personality. She will most certainly be missed by the many who counted her a friend.

Anita Murphy was a loving friend and supporter of Eloise Milam and the Melody Maids of Beaumont. Three of her daughters were in the group. Her talent with fabric and design enriched us all throughout her life. Quilts she inspired for the Melody Maids can be viewed in the Eloise Milam Rose Room Museum in the Julie Rogers Theater. Anita and I were together at her home - working on the quilts when 9/11 happened. We stopped what we were doing and went to Infant Jesus to pray together.

Aunt Anita was always a very dynamic and devoted woman. She will be remembered in that way. You have now left us to join your husband, daughter and many other family members including my mother and husband and has found eternal peace with our Creator. We extend our deepest condolences to her children and grandchildren. With love, Juliette & Carolynne Carrico Fabry
