Vicki - you probably won't remember me !!! I'm back at the High School / Foyle days !!! We lived in Altnagelvin Park just across from you. I was so sorry to read about your dad's death in the Sentinel today - what a gentleman he was! After you left the first time I next came across your dad when he came back as MD for the UK when he used to visit Maydown. (I worked for DuPont for 22 years) He always had and made time to show that he cared for people first and made a point of chatting to everyone and always had a smile on his face. Please pass on my sympathies to your mum - there will be a massive gap in your lives now. Regards .... Garrow

Evelyn: I read the obituary in today's Courier Journal, and wanted to extend to you my sympathy. I remember with good fondness your years with Sam here in Louisville. I also am grateful for the memory of your offer to look after our sons while they were attending Rice University.
Warm greetings from your classmate at the University of Louisville Law School. David

Evelyn: Please accept my condolences at Sam's passing. I have very fond memories of working with Sam back when Bill was a kid and in Boy Scouts. He always gave such good advice and was so even tempered with the boys (and young, green Scoutmasters). I knew that as an Eagle Scout Sam could always be depended on to step up and help with anything he was asked to do or that he saw needed doing. I know you both have had a tough time of it lately but I believe Sam is happy again and I believe you will draw strength from that knowledge.
Yours in Scouting
Jeff

Evelyn: My thoughts and prayers are certainly with you. I know you will carry yourself with your usual grace and dignity in this new chapter of your life without the company of your loving husband. Please call upon me if ever you need anything. Fondly, Brenda Dean

Mrs. Lord, I came in contact with you in 1991. I introduced you at our high school graduation (Hardin-Jefferson) where you were the speaker. I so enjoyed visiting with you and learning about your family. My husband now pastors a church in the Kyle area. Please know that we are praying for your family during this time.

To Evelyn, whom I'm so proud to call friend, and your family. The service today was a fitting tribute to Sam. Your son spoke from the heart; sharing memories that reminded us of the closeness of your family and the humor that we remember was always a part of Sam. I will always think of Sam with a smile on his face, his love of Ford Mustangs and his social introduction, "Just call me Mr. Mayor" :) Michael and I will not be lucky enough to share 63 years of marriage but, because of the partnership we saw in you and Sam, we will be each others best friend for all of our days yet to come. Thank you for this gift.
