May memories bring you comfort in the days ahead. I worked in the Channel 6 newsroom with your Dad back in the mid-70s. He was an amazing sports encyclopedia.
With sincere and understanding sympathy, Judy Hammond

I miss you so much, just seeing your picture posted made me think of the days that I spent with you. I was your caregiver for almost two years, I could not come to your funeral, but know that I am there with you in my heart. I will never forget you cy, never. I am sitting at my computer looking at one of your pictures. RIP! Annette in Galveston, Tx.

The Hurst family-My first encounter with Cy was in Little League he had a passion for the game as a coach. We can all can learn a lot at a time like this. Cy had a very good since of reality. Great American, Great sport news for Channel 6. "Tell them Cy sent you by" I had the honor to work with Cy & W.L. Pate Sr. in the Babe Golf Tournament (What a blast)

Don, Skip, Mark, Lynda and family,
No better memories than around Cy at the ballpark and at your home. Having lost my father a couple of years ago the same way, I can tell you I miss him being here; but his stories and memories of him are with me daily. Mark, you and I were blessed growing up with father characters or should that be character fathers!!!

Cy gave me my first introduction to baseball at Spindletop Little League. His involvement with so many kids influenced me in getting involved when my playing days were over. He was a good man and he will be missed. My prayers are with all of you and Cy.

There are people as we go through life that teach with passion, inspire with confidence and in return receive respect and love from the people whose life they touch. A great man, a great American. He touched many. Sandy & Robert Pate
