My family physician referred me to Dr. Carl because my back and neck were in very serious condition, made worse by a surgeron from Baylor Medical School in Houston, TX. Dr. I was in constant pain, couldn't walk good and for the most part had to ride a scooter. After Dr. Shrontz did my lst surgery I was like a different person. He went on to do l neck and three more back surgeries, each one in a different area of my back. To me the was the most wonderful doctor and friend I've every known. He was so concerned abour my condition and the last back surgery he performed on me, he had gone to California to learn the proceedure. My many doctors are that dedicated and just care for their patients. I remember always leaving his office with a smile after he had told me a funny story or just talked to me like I was a person. He told me the Halloween story about hiding in the closet and scaring his daughters friend out of their skin. I will never forget him and just hope and pray I never have to have another back surgery because as far as I am concerned no one would be good enough. Mrs. Shrontz and your daughters have my prayers and thoughts, I know you will miss him. But like so many have said Heaven is a brighter place now that he's there.

Words cannot express the saddness I felt upon hearing of your beloved husband and father's passing. A true diamond of a man who saved my husband's legs and gave us back our lives together as a family. He was a joy to watch. He embraced all of "us" patients with a solid curiosity and committment. He loved the oddity of each surgery it seemed, but he loved most was his wife and girls. He was always so happy to answer my questions of his family. We will miss this genuine hero. He was a treasure. We thank the Lord for putting us on his list of patients. Know that you are all in our hearts. You are like our family, too. We hated to get well in a way, since we would no longer be a part of something special. Bev and Sam Salim.

I worked with Dr. Shrontz at St. E's for many years and he made every day a joy. One of the smartest and kindest people I have ever known. From his crazy glasses, I was always partial to the zebra print ones, to his suspenders, the man had style. He will truly be missed. My deepest sympathy to Laurel and his girls.

Dear Laurel, We are thinking of you and the girls. Will be praying for ya'll. Dr. Shrontz will be sorely missed by all those who knew him and loved him. And that is basically it, if you knew him then you loved him. He was always smiling, joking, kind, caring and compassionate. He was a physician, a surgeon, a friend, an encourager, and a teacher. Oh and a rancher! We always looked forward to seeing him when he made rounds and you could always count on him. Kristina Bedair DeVillier

Laurel & Family,
Your husband and father was a wonderful person as well as a very skillful surgeon. He saved my husband's life by performing brain surgery after a seven foot fall. He re-assured me that my husband was going to be all right and made me believe him. He made a difference in our lifes. To this day, we are very grateful to have known Dr. Carl E. Shrontz. We are so sadden to hear of your loss.
